"Windows of Life" Pendants
As you may have read from my “Passion & Purpose" to the right, I am inspired by the journeys of others. I am inviting you to send me sentimental, close-to-the-heart items to create a one-of-a-kind pendant in honor of one’s journey. These pendants represent a window into one’s life…heart…soul.

Cost of Pendant Necklaces $40
You may choose from three different necklace styles...leather, ball chain, linen or cotton cord. Send anything flat that will fit between two pieces of glass the size of a postage stamp (1” x1”, 1-1/4”x1” or a 2”x1”). See inspired examples below and my notes on the materials used to create with.

HOST A PARTY AT YOUR HOME
A Windows of Life Pendant party can be fun to share with friends. You and your guests will design the two-sided pendant with my assistance, and I will then take them home to finish them. Within a week, I will deliver the finished jewelry to the hostess who will then deliver them to the guests. Cost will range from $25-35 depending on what you add on (pendant only is $25, each bauble is $2 and your necklace cord is $4-6). Walk Within You

This pendant has a sweet story. January 2008, I had the honor of meeting Ralph and Idie at the Jewish Center for Aged. I volunteer there and visit with a dear 94-year old woman named Adeline. One visit, I met Ralph and Idie who were sitting in the hallway. Idie was dying of ovarian cancer and was in hospice care. After this short visit with her, I decided to come see her as often as possible. Her husband, Ralph, was at her side constantly…so I was able to get to know them well after just a couple of months. Just before she died, Ralph shared a poem with me. The name of it was "Walk Within You." Idie gave it to Ralph to read at the memorial service. It's a beautiful poem. This couple loved one another well. We had a small but beautiful window of time ministering to one another…and I will always remember sweet Ida Mae "Idie". I asked Ralph if we could continue to be friends…so now we visit and keep in touch. Thoughts of them never fail to make me smile!

In the pendant I cut out a portion of a photo of one of the quilts on exhibit at the St. Louis Art Museum…Idie loved art and collected it. On top I cut the title out of the last three words of the poem, "Walk Within You" and pasted them on top of the artwork. On the reverse side of the pendant, I layered some paper (one being a strand of hearts…representing how Ralph and Idie's love will go on forever). Then I cut her name from the Thank You card I received from Ralph (for attending the memorial) and pasted it to the other pieces. I used leather to create a key ring charm, so he could keep a memory of her near at all times.

Lynn,
I looked at your designs and they are awesome...so beautiful!! I loved the story of your couple friends-how lovely to leave such a memory. I would enjoy reading her poem if it is available. I plan to get to your store on 10/2/08 to purchase my sodder kit and I hope you are still there. Your designs are so inspiring, I only hope I can create with such passion.
Best of luck...Sherryl Triplett

Wow...this story is beautiful. A little coincidental as well. I have two daughters, Adeline and Mae. I am also an ovarian cancer survivor.
